By 2005 the figure was at 7.0 million, followed by 7.2 million in 2006, 7.4 million in 2007, and 7.6 million in 2008. The population increased further to 7.8 million in 2009, 8.0 million in 2010, 8.2 million in 2011, 8.3 million in 2012, 8.4 million in 2013, and finally 8.5 million in 2014.
