It finds the difference between past and future difficulty. A ratio above 1 means an easier campaign ahead, while below 1 signals a harder run. That difference gets multiplied by the current points per game average to project future scoring rates. Take that projected rate, multiply it by the remaining games, and add it to the current score to get the final projected total.
