U.S. Navy Strait of Hormuz claim (photo 1 of 2)
U.S. Navy Strait of Hormuz claim (photo 2 of 2)

@jolyonThe idea that the U.S. Navy secretly dredged a bypass corridor in the Strait of Hormuz to escape Iranian control is almost certainly false, according to analysis by CIG on Telegram and writer Mhedi. While a narrow passage exists between Oman's Musandam Peninsula and Jazirat island, it only offers minor distance savings for large oil tankers rather than a strategic escape. Ships using this route would still remain entirely within Iran's strike range involving missiles and drones before they could even reach the area. The proposed corridor does not allow vessels to avoid waters exposed to Iranian weaponry, meaning the so-called safe corridor is not actually safe. Zooming out reveals the geographic reality: no matter how much land is moved, the military vulnerability remains because the route never clears the waters where Iranian forces can fire.

The image is a screenshot of a marine traffic tracking map. It displays various ships, identified by colored dots and names, navigating through bodies of water near landmasses labeled with place names like Qeshm, Ramchah, and Khasab. The overall mood is informational and technical, typical of a navigation or logistics tool. A notable detail is the red line drawn on a small island, possibly indicating a route or area of interest. The text "marinetraffic" is prominently displayed, along with "by kpler". Other visible text includes ship names like "JADE", "BARI 13149", "HOSKUMZAR", "J. PIONEER", "SEA RUBY", and "ELLIE".
