@terrymillerAnthropic researcher Jacob Coxon resigned from the company, warning that AI firms are moving too quickly toward self-improving artificial intelligence. He said the race to build increasingly powerful systems could create serious risks that are not yet fully understood. Coxon warned that advanced AI could potentially pose an existential threat to humanity within this decade. Anthropic team lead Evan Hubinger has also acknowledged the possibility of AI causing catastrophic harm. He estimated that there could be more than a 10% chance of AI causing human extinction within the next decade.
