    Trump Lifetime IRS Audit Exemption

The Internal Revenue Service has now agreed that it will never conduct an audit on Trump again. One extra page was attached without fanfare to the 1.8 billion dollar agreement finalized the day before, and this addition ensures that the IRS cannot look into the tax returns belonging to Trump, members of his family, or any of his business interests. Nothing in the original agreement addressed taxes at all. The new clause came to light the next day. Former IRS commissioner Danny Werfel indicated that he was not familiar with any earlier case in which the service had promised in advance to give up forever the right to review tax returns that had already been filed by one specific individual or corporation. Officials had promoted the settlement as a step toward greater accountability. Politico reports that the additional page amounts to a permanent exemption from audits for the president.
