A comparison of Poland and Portugal's rankings in 2003 shows them at 20th and 17th, respectively. Since Robert Lewandowski's emergence, Poland has failed to qualify for the 2010 and 2014 World Cups, exited in the group stage at Euro 2012, and missed out on the 2026 World Cup. In contrast, Portugal with Cristiano Ronaldo reached the Euro 2004 final (silver) and the 2006 World Cup semifinals (bronze). Love
