Harvard settles body parts lawsuits for $53 million

Families who donated loved ones to Harvard Medical School will receive a $53 million settlement from Harvard University after parts of the remains were stolen and sold on the black market by former morgue manager Cedric Lodge. Lodge pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 8 years in federal prison for the crimes. A judge has preliminarily approved the agreement, with a final approval hearing scheduled for December. The university does not admit liability under the terms of the settlement
