“This is an investment in the future” — the host of The Game Awards and the chief engineer of PlayStation will invest millions in the next generation of game developers. The grant amount will range from $100,000 to $500,000. The maximum funding is sought for promising projects. The foundation is already accepting applications from graduates. The Game Awards host Jeff Kili and PlayStation 5 architect Mark Cerny have teamed up to launch the Nova Games Foundation, a charitable fund that will provide financial support to aspiring developers. Game File, Kili, and Cerny have already made million‑dollar donations to establish the fund and intend to continue doing so. At the same time, NGF will not receive a share in the funded projects — the authors want to help young developers realize their ideas. The foundation collaborates with 13 university programs around the world, including New York University, the University of Southern, and many others.Twenty graduates will be able to receive support each year. According to Kili, the Nova Games Foundation should be a philanthropic initiative, and the “return” on investment will be the emergence of new creators and original games.
