AI is not coming for your job, according to Satya Nadella, the CEO and chairman of Microsoft. What he says instead is that companies are going to evolve to have two forms of capital, token capital and human capital. Human capital is essentially how humans actually interact with AI models to build more, and the AI capital is exactly what systems are built into the company using AI and what they're able to do with that AI. And so what he basically summarizes is that You have this loop that gets created of humans that are checking AI models, that are making them useful and making sure that they actually do something. And because of this, you need this to be able to make the AI actually useful. Otherwise, it gets stuck in the loop talking to itself. And so what he basically makes a claim of is that this actually will increase the value of human capital because you need that in the loop to be able to make this work. He also goes on to say that look this idea that you have one AI model that becomes the superior model and that takes over and displaces all of industry becomes problematic from a political perspective He compares this to what happened with globalization and the outsourcing of jobs Basically look if you have one AI model that runs everything, people are going to get politically upset. Like, hey, this is taking my job. This is taking away all of industry. We don't like this. Kind of how we've had that with outsourcing of jobs. Sure, it didn't show up in the GDP numbers, he claims, but it did show up in the displacement of work and labor for people in the United States as an example. So all in all, these are some of the thoughts that came out of this article from Satya Nadella about the future of AI. So the question here is, how do you feel about that? Do you think that AI will take all of the jobs? Do you think that this is something that's going to be catastrophic to society? Do you also think that maybe there will only be one frontier model or should there be an entire ecosystem? That is actually something that Satya Nadella says as well.
