Stuðlagil in Iceland is where you find these massive basalt columns rising straight out of the earth. The river cuts through with vibrant turquoise water, and looking down from above makes the scale feel insane. Some of those hexagonal pillars are dusted with orange lichen, adding a weird pop of color to the dark rock. It honestly looks like a temple built by ancient volcanoes just to show off how much force it took to make them.
