UK NHS lung transplant test

The UK is testing a new NHS organ transplant system where lungs traveled between three different hospitals. The organs were donated at one facility, assessed and tested at another, then moved to a third for the actual transplant. Channel 4 News reports this is the first time such a multi-hospital route has been used. If the trial succeeds, the system could become standard across the UK and potentially save or dramatically improve up to 750 lives every year.
