Visually, it was important to me that it made the movie feel like myself. I think I'm obviously James, an incredible filmmaker. Lee, Adam, Patrick, the other filmmakers all have their own styles, and I was like, I need to make this my own style, right? This is how I see the world. And so I was grateful that James and Lee really let me sort of run with that. In terms of my inspirations, a lot of it is similar things like Poltergeist, like you said, but also The Descent was an inspiration to me, especially for the claustrophobia. probably is no surprise as a filmmaker, but like I am a huge Spielberg fan, and so like the way I block and think about scene setting is very much inspired by Jaws and E.T. and just all the classics, even like Munich is one of my favorite films, and just the way he uses the camera in that film is remarkable, and I definitely try to take the audience by the hand using the camera work as much as I can.
