You can run, but can you hide? GTA 6 confirmed the mechanics of the police system, and it's going to require a lot more cunning than previous games in the series. For one, they are completely removing enemy markers from the minimap, forcing the player to rely on the focus ability to detect nearby threats. Crimes also have to be witnessed and reported, meaning your wanted stars won't just activate on actions alone. The game is also adding a new heat system, tracking exactly what the cops know about the protagonists at the time. Their clothing, weapons, their current vehicle, even if they have CCTV footage. That means getting away from a crime isn't just about outrunning the police. It's about figuring out what they have on you. In turn, players can fight back against heat by destroying security cameras, switching outfits, hiding weapons, swapping cars, even splitting up our two heroes can remove a star or so. In the end, the goal is to make law enforcement and civilians react to what's actually happening around them as opposed to a set of predictable scripts. What do you think?
