Pinky Up

On April 9, 2026, the global girl group Katseye dropped Pinky Up, a high-octane hyperpop and techno-pop track serving as the lead single for their third EP Wild. The release arrived just one day before the quintet's highly anticipated Coachella debut, marking their first official project since member Manon Bannerman stepped away in February to focus on her health. Produced by "Hitman" Bang alongside Dwilly and Frants, the song features a maximalist hard-techno beat that interpolates the classic German trance anthem "Meet Her at the Love Parade" by Da Hool.

The two-minute-and-eleven-second runtime packs a punch with lyrics blending modern confidence with historical whimsy. The group references 19th-century etiquette regarding the pinky gesture while weaving in a quote attributed to Socrates: "The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing." This juxtaposition creates a playful yet assertive atmosphere that signaled a shift toward more cohesive thematic execution compared to their previous work.

Critics reacted with a mix of admiration and confusion, describing the track as a bold sonic experiment. The FADER labeled it a "maximalist, hard-techno gag," noting how its unconventional structure divided both fans and reviewers. Despite the polarized reception, the song found immediate commercial traction, debuting at number 28 on the Billboard Hot 100 and spending six weeks on the chart. It also entered the UK Official Singles Chart at number 14 and secured the number 45 spot on Billboard's midyear list of best songs in 2026. [düzenle]
