Push 2 Start

Tyla dropped Push 2 Start on October 11, 2024 as a standout track from the deluxe edition of her self-titled debut album. The song blends Amapiano with pop, R&B, reggae, and reggaeton elements while using car metaphors to discuss attraction and commitment. Writers Tyla Seethal, Imani Lewis, Corey Marlon Lindsay-Keay, Ariowa Irosogie, Samuel Awuku, and James McCarthy crafted the lyrics, while Ari PenSmith, Mocha Bands, and Rayo handled production duties. Sammy Soso added background vocals and helped shape the bass programming and arrangement to create a warm, layered sound.

Reviewers highlighted the track's confident delivery and seamless genre fusion. EUPHORIA. described it as a sexy, vibrant R&B song with easy-swaying vibes that showcase Tyla's ability to glide over complex grooves. Before the official release, fans caught a glimpse of the song during the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards where Tyla performed a mashup of Push 2 Start and Water. She later brought the same energetic combination to the 2024 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.

The single found success on international charts, peaking at number 20 in New Zealand and reaching number 44 in Australia. It also charted at number 55 in Switzerland and spent ten weeks on both the Irish Singles Chart and the Canadian Hot 100, hitting peaks of 60 and 70 respectively. No major certifications have been reported for the original version yet. A remix featuring Sean Paul arrived in 2025 to add a dancehall twist to the track. Critics noted its inclusion in major compilations like NOW That's What I Call Music! 120 and BRAVO Hits, Vol. 128, along with a spot in the NBA 2K26 video game soundtrack. [düzenle]
