Shō Aimoto

Sho Aimoto (born December 22, 1987, in Okayama Prefecture, Japan) is a manga artist (mangaka) publishing with Shueisha. Signature work: the supernatural mystery Kemono Jihen, serialized in Jump Square since December 2016, collected in 25 volumes as of 2026, with an anime season (Ajiado, January–March 2021) (Wikipedia).

Earlier serialization: Hokenshitsu no Shinigami (2014). Reported one-shots include a JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean spin-off (2021). Handle: @aimoto1222 (the numbers mark the birthday).[düzenle]

Okayama-raised; copying favorite manga panels from childhood. Moved to Tokyo in the late 2000s; worked as a manga assistant (backgrounds, inking), learning weekly-serialization discipline.

First originals: the one-shot Muddy (reported 2011), then the Hokenshitsu no Shinigami pilot — successful enough to serialize, and the professional debut.[düzenle]

Hokenshitsu no Shinigami launched in Jump Square (2014). Then the anchor: Kemono Jihen (December 2016–present) — Kabane and the supernatural-detective agency, monster-of-the-week over a kemono-hybrid myth arc. Million-copy circulation by 2020; anime announced at Jump Festa 2019, aired January–March 2021 (Wikipedia, ANN).

2021: the Stone Ocean one-shot Fujiko's Bizarre Worldly Wisdom – Whitesnake's Miscalculation (reportedly the first spin-off by a non-Araki author). Dropped from this page: a claimed 2026 series conclusion with a 26th volume (the series is ongoing at 25), a "Gunma-chan" children's manga, and a stage-play announcement — none verified.[düzenle]

Low-profile craftsperson: crisp expressive art, tight plotting, outsider-belonging themes. Style comparisons: Yana Toboso, Koyoharu Gotouge. Socials: sketches and process, minimal persona.[düzenle]

The fandom is lore-first: wikis, theory threads, fan art of Kabane and company — no formal club name, no campaigns. Aimoto the person stays nearly invisible by design. No placement in iFANN's Global Fame Engine Top 1,000 or any Top-100 scope list.[düzenle]

Shueisha / Jump Square (publisher). Ajiado (anime studio, 2021). The JoJo's Bizarre Adventure franchise (2021 one-shot). Early-career manga-assistant work in Tokyo (a prior "assistant to Akira" credit is too vague to stand and is dropped).[düzenle]
